Book Review: The Rebound Guy

The Rebound GuyThe Rebound Guy by Farrah Rochon

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book was an amalgamation of the movies Failure to Launch and The Wedding Date. You’ve got a dude hiring himself out to women to be their rebound guy and no one thought to explore his own psychological issues that lead him to that brilliant decision? I mean, his entire business model was contrived to ensure he could not have another serious relationship. Ever. I was a wee bit disappointed that those issues weren’t explored, as you can probably tell.

That said, the chemistry between the main characters was well done. I liked that they were aware that they had only known each other a very short amount of time to be feeling what they were feeling. I liked the supporting cast – the MC’s sister was a good foil for her as well as helping to humanize her (she’s not just a workaholic robot, she’s a loving big sister).
